painting Esquivel - EN

Read: Matthew 1:1-17

The words true and worthy of full acceptance, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners," and among them I am the chief of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15)

Adolfo Esquivel, Argentine artist, issued a series of paintings a unique illustration of the Cross. He describes how Christ out of a modern prison, and take up the cross in between a busy city street, factories that pollute the air, felling trees, rundown house, accompanied by Negroes victims of racism, drug-addicted teenage unemployment, and mother-mothers whose children "disappeared" by the politicians. Modern interpretation of the work of Christ is reminding me again that Christ comes also to all those who suffer out there, this time.

Genealogy of Christ is recorded by Matthew asserts that Christ is present to everyone. Yes, we see the name of David, the great king of Israel, there. However, there are also Rahab, a woman bitch, and Ruth, a foreign woman. Christ comes from the pedigree with various backgrounds of life. And, while living in the world was, he was even willing to be with those who are subordinated and demeaned society: women, widows, tax collectors, the poor, lepers, until the fishermen of Galilee (which was then known as the area of the "infidels" and its citizens likes to fight).

Let us always remember that Christ is with those who feel the harshness of life. He is with the people that we have set aside for economic competition and social rank differences. Are we there with them? Or, perhaps we are too busy activities inside the church building and not bless out?

WILLING TO ATTEND CHRIST IN HUMAN SUFFERING
May we IMITATION IS HIS SERVICE
